Contractor Essentials is owned and operated by Macservice Pty Ltd (ABN 43 064 478 842), trading as TMG Test Equipment.   Our warehouse is operated out of Clayton South, VIC, Australia and we have remote staff based in Sydney, NSW and Brisbane, QLD.

Our returns policy is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law because we want you to be happy with your purchase. Please read the following carefully to ensure you are fully aware of your rights under this policy and our obligations to you.


Change of mind returns

Contractor Essentials will only accept change-of-mind returns on a case-by-case basis by approval from our Management Team.

Contractor Essentials reserves the right to assess the condition and age of returned goods prior to offering a repair, exchange or refund. This may result in a repair, exchange or refund being refused.

The following conditions apply in all instances of change-of-mind returns;

  • You provide your original Contractor Essentials receipt, online tax invoice or other adequate proof of purchase at the time you request return the item.
  • Given that the goods need to be resold as new, the goods must be returned in the original packaging in very good resellable condition, including all accessories originally supplied (if applicable).   

The goods are in it's original condition and not been used or damaged in any way.


All other returns

Contractor Essentials will accept product returns and provide you with an exchange, refund or repair where:

If you have a minor problem with a product, Contractor Essentials can choose to give you a free repair instead of a replacement or refund.  When you have a major problem with a product, you have the right to ask for your choice of a replacement or refund; or

The product does not match the sample or our description; and

You can present your Contractor Essentials tax invoice or other adequate proof of purchase.

Contractor Essentials may elect to return the product to the manufacturer’s repair agent to determine the nature of the problem.  In most instances, the item is repaired and delivered back to you free-of-charge.   Loan units may be available to minimise your down time, please see below.  Terms & Conditions apply for all loan equipment.

Contractor Essentials reserves the right not to offer an exchange, refund or repair where the item fault is a result of misuse or neglect.


Goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type rather than being repaired.  Refurbished parts may be used to repair goods.

Claims for reasonable expenses incurred in returning your purchase should be addressed to our Customer Service team at the address below and need to be accompanied with supporting evidence such as Australian Post receipt along with the Australia Post tracking number.

Contractor Essentials reserves the right to:

Please note:

Your original Contractor Essentials tax invoice are the best form of proof of purchase

Refunds will be issued using your original payment method

Prepaid Calibration vouchers, Gift and e-Gift cards are not redeemable for cash


Loan units

In the instance of repairs, Contractor Essentials has a finite pool of loan equipment available.   In order to provide a loan unit your faulty unit must be returned to us first.  

Loan Terms & Conditions apply, please enquire at the time of return to understand the terms and condition of the loan agreement.
 In the instance whereby no-fault is found, Contractor Essentials reserve the right to charge.


How to return a product ordered on Contractor Essentials website

Products ordered online with Contractor Essentials must be returned to our store in Clayton South.

Please contact our team on 1800 680 680 to discuss your product return.  
Please ensure you have your order ID and tax invoice handy when you call.

For change of mind return/exchange, delivery fee is non-refundable.
